Our Story
ZiZi's Pets was founded by Rachel Mazza (she/her), a lifelong animal lover who has been providing professional pet care since 2013.
After leaving the corporate world, Rachel turned her passion for caring for animals into a career built on trust, compassion, and exceptional service. Growing up with dogs, cats, reptiles, birds, fish, and small mammals gave Rachel an intuitive understanding of animals of all kinds. She has a special passion for caring for senior pets, those with medical needs, and animals who may need a little extra patience and understanding. Beyond pet sitting, she's also fostered dogs, cats, and kittens through Lifeline Animal Services.
As a pet parent to Tony Cannoli and Stellina Caterina, Rachel knows firsthand how difficult it can be to find a sitter who communicates well, is truly reliable, and cares for your pets like family. That experience became the foundation of ZiZi's Pets.
Today, every member of the ZiZi's Pets team is carefully vetted, trained, licensed, insured, and bonded to provide the same thoughtful, personalized care Rachel would want for her own pets. Whether we're stopping in for a walk, caring for your home and plants, or staying overnight, our goal is simple: to give you complete peace of mind while making your pets feel safe, loved, and right at home.
What's a ZiZi?
A ZiZi is your dedicated pet care provider. The name is inspired by the Italian words zio and zia (uncle and aunt), a nod to founder Rachel's Italian American heritage. When creating our team, we wanted a title that felt warm, welcoming, and inclusive. As a queer-owned business, choosing a gender-neutral name reflects our commitment to making every member of our team feel seen and valued.
And let's be honest, growing up, many of us thought our favorite auntie or uncle was the fun one! That's exactly the spirit we hope every ZiZi brings to your pets: a trusted, familiar friend who shows up with love, care, and maybe a little extra fun while you're away.

At ZiZi's Pets, we feel that exceptional pet and homecare care starts with trust and attention to detail. As a queer and women owned business, we also believe compassionate care is rooted in respect and accessibility. We've built a community where clients, pets, and our ZiZi’s all feel welcome, safe, and valued.
Unlike many app-based or independent pet sitters, ZiZi's Pets is fully licensed, bonded, insured, and Pet CPR certified. Our intentionally small team is carefully vetted and trained to deliver the same high standard of professionalism, communication, and thorough care on every visit.
We provide only one-on-one dog walks so every outing is tailored to your dog's pace, personality, and needs. We also welcome pets of all breeds and evaluate behavioral challenges on a case-by-case basis because we believe every pet deserves access to quality care.
Most importantly, we care for pets where they're happiest: at home. By keeping their routines familiar and their environment comfortable, we're able to reduce stress while giving you peace of mind. Nothing makes us happier than hearing that a client came home to a pet who was relaxed, content, and acting like they'd never missed a day of their routine.
